Dodge is a Houston staple — daily drivers, weekend muscle, and everything in between. Dodges get hit like every other car on 610, but they aren’t built like every other car: steel unibodies, aluminum hoods, and a full set of driver-assist sensors that all have to be right when the car leaves. Repairs follow Stellantis (FCA US) collision procedures, and Stellantis is blunt: only Authentic Mopar parts are engineered and tested to its standards, and it does not approve structural repairs that don’t use Mopar parts and published procedures. We’re a family-owned shop in Houston since 2014, and we repair Dodges the way Stellantis wrote it down.
The damage we see most on Dodges
Front-end hits and the aluminum hood
Dodge hoods are aluminum, and aluminum doesn’t work like steel — it can’t be heated and pulled back into shape, and it has no “memory,” so sharp creases usually mean replacement, not repair. Front-end hits also reach headlights, the grille, and the sensors behind the bumper cover. Headlamp removal and reinstallation alone triggers Stellantis’s scan requirements.
Structural panels — steel unibody
Dodges ride on steel unibodies, and Stellantis allows cold straightening only on high-strength and advanced high-strength steels — no heat, ever. Heat permanently changes the steel’s properties. Structural panels must be installed in their entirety; partial replacement or “sectioning” is only allowed where a Stellantis publication documents the procedure.
Rear-end hits and blind-spot sensors
The blind-spot sensors live in the rear of the vehicle, so any rear-end repair can disturb them. Stellantis requires blind-spot calibration and initialization before the vehicle goes back to the customer — every time, not just when something looks wrong. We calibrate and validate the system on every Dodge we repair and don’t release the car until it passes.
Stellantis factory repair procedures — why they matter on a Dodge
Stellantis (FCA US) publishes clear position statements for Dodge repairs, and we follow them. See Mopar’s official collision repair information:
- Structural repairs must use Authentic Mopar parts — Stellantis does not approve or recognize structural repair procedures performed with non-Mopar parts.
- Structural panels must be installed in their entirety. Sectioning is only allowed where a Stellantis publication documents the procedure — no guessing.
- Cold straightening only — no heat on high-strength and advanced high-strength steels.
- Pre- and post-repair scans with the Mopar wiTECH system are required, including after bumper, headlamp, or mirror removal and reinstallation and after glass replacement — not just on big structural jobs.
- Park sensors and their attachment brackets are replace-only — if damaged, they get replaced, never repaired. A “repaired” bracket can throw the sensor’s aim off just enough to make the system unreliable.
- Repairs are validated through the Certified FCA US Collision Repair network standards.

What affects cost and timeline
Structural panels go in as complete assemblies per Stellantis — the only approved path, and it takes the time it takes. ADAS calibration (blind-spot, sensors) plus the required wiTECH post-scan are dedicated, non-rushable steps. Most bumper and panel jobs run a few days; structural work with calibration runs longer. Every estimate comes with an honest timeline in writing.
Insurance claims on your Dodge
We work with all major insurance companies and handle the paperwork, photos, and supplements for you. Adjusters sometimes question calibration charges and Mopar-part replacements — we document Stellantis’s written requirements and get them approved. And Texas law protects your right to choose your shop; the insurance company can’t force you to use theirs.
Dodge FAQs
Why does my Dodge need a scan after a “simple” headlight replacement?
Because Stellantis requires it: pre- and post-repair scans with the Mopar wiTECH system are required after bumper, headlamp, or mirror removal and reinstallation, and after glass replacement. Safety and security systems — airbags, blind-spot monitoring, forward radar and camera, parking sensors — must be tested for fault codes before and after the repair.
Can a shop use heat to straighten my Dodge’s frame faster?
No. Stellantis allows cold straightening only on high-strength and advanced high-strength steels — heat permanently changes the steel’s crystalline structure and destroys its strength. Any estimate proposing heat straightening on your Dodge’s structure should be rejected.
My bumper just looks scratched. Can I skip the repair?
Not without an inspection. The sensors and brackets behind the cover — and the blind-spot sensors in the rear — can be disturbed even when the cover looks fine. Park sensor brackets are replace-only if damaged, so we check them on every bumper job and tell you honestly if it’s just the cover.
